Wiki Writing: Collaborative Learning in the College Classroom
A great collection of writing about wikis in the higher education context is available online as a wiki (no surprise there, eh?). It is entitled The Wild Wild Wiki/Wiki Writing: Collaborative Learning in the College Classroom. Perhaps more interesting is the news that the University of Michigan press will be turning the collection into a book. Here’s the contents you can read online.

Wikis and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
- “Wikis in the Classroom: A Taxonomy”

Thanks for posting this - there are some really interesting articles included in this collection. But it looks like the wiki itself is a working document for the writers, so hopefully it won’t be removed when the book is released. Do you know if the full text is going to remain available via the wiki in the long term?

Paul,
I’m assuming it is going to stay available in the wiki format, based on what I read, but I don’t have enough insider knowledge to confirm that.

Let’s hope it does remain freely available on the web!
Thanks again for posting the link - it has provided me with plenty of things to add to my growing list of stuff to read

I love this idea and way to go U of M. Hopefully, this can lead to students contributing to their own text books!

I am happy to see that universities are taking advantage of web 2.0 technologies. More importantly, it is nice to know that people are thinking outside the box and discovering creative ways to benefit from user generated content.
Thanks,
